This morning I saw the most amazing sunrise. I haven't seen it in a while since it's been cloudy 'n dark so early on the ferry dock - but today - it was amazing. I was pretty far up on the dock so I was on the water - just looking out over Puget Sound. I could see the exact spot where the sun was going to come up because there was a yellow spot on the horizon, and in the very center were streaks of crimson red shining forth. The sky was a pale blue - the kind of muted blue in the morning when the sun doesn't touch it just yet. Finally we loaded onto the boat at 6 am, and the sun was so close to peeking out over the water... and as we were pulling out of the dock the boat kinda swerved to the right and I could see Mount Ranier - which was amazing. It was still covered in snow.. and with the gorgeous sunrise very close to it - I was awestruck. I stared for minutes on end. Sometimes I just am amazed at where I am in my life. Staring at that mountain today made me feel not only pitifully puny, but I also felt like I was in a beautiful place in the world and I was lucky. I can't even describe what I felt, but I was smiling. It was beautiful.
