Yesterday, (friday afternoon) when I was on the ferryboat to get home to go to work... I just had to get out of my car. Usually, ferries mean a quick nap or some reading or homework - always in the car. It's fifteen minutes, why not just chill in the comfort of your car, listening to music right? But yesterday, man. The sun had been out for the first time in a good two weeks. And it wasn't just sun peeking through the clouds like the sometimes glimpse of hope us Seattle-ites get, it was a bright, blue sky, with this gorgeous white sunlight streaming everywhere. The water beneath us was bright blue as if responding to the sun and glowing. The horizon was clear as I watched us sail seemingly parallel to Mt. Rainier. I stood there, at the side of the boat on the upper level of the ferry, smoking, and staring. I've been so sad, honestly, and the rain hasn't been helping. And yesterday... damn. I just wanted to wave people out of their car's and just tell them, please, to look at how amazing this really is. Besides, we pay for this ferry ride, don't you want to at least enjoy it once in a while? I was sad again when we docked... but only because I had to get back in my car. It was a fleeting, beautiful 20 minutes. I bought Pete Yorn's new album - and it's pretty good.. hmm. I suppose that is all.
