This whole Mount St. Helens-gonna-blow- thing is amazing. I was going to drive down there yesterday, but I read in the paper that pretty much everybody, their mother and everybody's dog in the state and beyond has been there for days.
How awful would it be - in a kind of a dumb "whoops, my bad" kind of way would it be for the scientists who have allowed allllll these people to go to the volcano to watch it essentially burp steam and ash... then one day it just blows to kingdom-com and kills everyone?
I kinda wish it was Mount Rainier that was doing this - because I have a perfect view of it on my way to work. St. Helen's is a bit too far south for me to casually watch. If Rainier ever went up, I would seriously just grab a beachchair, blow off work, and chill at the waterfront, watching and snapping pictures.
Wow. I live in a state with an active volcano... fuck California earthquakes... this rocks.
